How do elections work?

PAPMSS' leadership is chosen directly by the PAPM community through regular elections. In this section, you will find information about upcoming elections, in addition to forms and campaign rules.

PAPMSS holds elections twice annually for different positions:

  • President & Vice Presidents: March or April of the preceding school year

  • First & Second Year Representatives: First six weeks of the current school year

Elections in PAPMSS are conducted through an electronic ballot. 

How do I vote?

Ballots are sent to eligible electors to vote on the morning of the election via their Carleton email account. Voters will have about twelve hours on Election Day to vote before the poll is closed.

After the poll is closed, results are tabulated and released by the Chief Electoral Officer.

Interested in joining the executive team?

To be a candidate, you must:

  • Be a registered B.PAPM student

  • Obtain signatures from at least two nominators on your nomination form

  • Submit your nomination form in by the deadline.

  • Agree to, and abide by the Campaign Rules

How you can get involved:

All students are encouraged to actively contribute to, and participate in their student society. 

Join a PAPMSS committee

 All PAPM students and paying members of PAPMSS have the opportunity to join the following committees:

  • Social Committee

    • Supports the VP Social and the rest of PAPMSS in areas such as logistical management, event planning, and on-site volunteering.

    • Assist our executive with planning and delivering memorable events to the PAPM community.

    • Plan and organize the annual PAPM Gala.

What WE can do for YOU?

  • Help you gain team-working skills by collaborating with other members!

  • Provide opportunities to take on leadership roles!

  • Provide a letter of reference if it should be needed!

  • Provide a credit on your Co-Curricular Record (CCR)!
