AI: Implications for Defence, National Security, and Intelligence Conference

Scholarly debates on the subject of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in defence largely center on the tactical use and misuse of the technology within autonomous weapons systems, and the associated risks AI may pose to the legal practice of the use of force. Few debates exist, however, as to the utility of AI in times of crisis, conflict, and war, or in matters of statecraft, diplomacy, national security, cybersecurity, and intelligence. The dearth of knowledge is surprising given the expectation that the future of war will be autonomous. This conference will explore the nexus between AI and national defence, national security, and intelligence in Canada and abroad.

Registration open date TBA.
